Yes this stuff gives me LIFE. Yes I can feel the energy boost mere minutes after drinking a glass. No, it doesn’t taste like crappy vegetables. No, it doesn’t cost a fortune. Yes it’s good for you. No it doesn’t contain caffeine or anything artificial. Yes this wakes me up better than coffee.
Green Water is a combination of 8oz of cold water and 12-15 drops of Liquid Concentrate Chlorophyll. Yes, the same chlorophyll you learned about in 8th grade science class that contributes to the photosynthesis of plants. Sounds weird I know, but keep reading. So chlorophyll allows plants to absorb energy from light and also contributes to their beautiful leafy green color. But Kara, I’m not a plant…I know, I know. Keep reading.
Did you know that the chlorophyll molecule is structurally identical to hemoglobin (ya know, blood), other than that it has a magnesium atom at its core and not iron as in red-blooded animals? Sooooo if chlorophyll is essential to helping plants thrive and harness energy, why not humans?
It’s not even just the immediate and long last energy effects that make this my new go to supplement. Here is a list of some of the benefits that chlorophyll can have on the human body:
- Higher energy
- Detoxifies the body
- Cleans the digestive tract
- Aides in the prevention of certain cancers
- Eliminates body odor and bad breath
- Helps with anemia
Yeah, so you’re going to want to start incorporating more chlorophyll into your life ASAP. If you don’t get enough of it from green plants or veggies, which most of us don’t, you may want to hop on the green water wagon with me. Remember when I said it doesn’t taste like crap? Well, I wasn’t lying. Sure, it’s different and takes some getting used to, but compared to the other things I force myself to drink (looking at you Apple Cider Vinegar) chlorophyll is a breeze. Besides, most of the liquid concentrate chlorophylls I’ve seen contain mint extract, which makes my green water nice & refreshing.
And incase you’re wondering, yes I still drink coffee during the day as well. I’ve just found that drinking a cold glass of green water right when I wake up really gets my energy going. The combo of cold water shocking my system and chlorophyll is pure magic. I’ve linked to a few liquid chlorophylls that you can purchase online. Full disclosure, I found mine for $10 at Whole Foods.
